This photo of the WRAAF under construction was made Nov. 13, 1942. (Note the temporary runway east of the field.
The last building completed was the Base Sales Store, which opened on Dec. 31, 1943. On Sept. 1, 1944, the Air Field was transferred to Navy for use by Marine Corps.
